Council Meeting

That the agenda be approved as presented.

That the minutes contained herein be adopted.

That the Council meeting be recessed to hold Public Hearing(s) for: 1. Zoning By-Law Amendment Application Z-06-26 for the Township of Georgian Bluffs; and 2. New Township of Georgian Bluffs Official Plan.

That report DEV2026-038 be received for information; and That Council and public comments received at the Public Hearing be addressed in a future staff report for consideration.

That this public meeting be adjourned.

That Report DEV2026-037 for the New Official Plan Public Meeting be received for information.

That Council receive staff report DEV2026-000 “Update to Building By-laws” for information and; That Council Authorize the Mayor and Clerk to enact the updated Building By-law and Building Official Appointment By- law as substantially included in this report.

That Council provide support for the Bass Lake Access Association to seek necessary approvals from the Niagara Escarpment Commission and the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority and any other required agency, for the installation of steps and a dock on Township property on Bass Lake between 139 Lakeview Drive and 139 South Bass Lake Road, and That the Bass Lake Access Association be requested to provide written support for the steps and dock, by the immediate neighbours to the Townships property being 139 and 138 Lakeview Drive and 129, 136 and 139 South Bass Lake Road, and That Council direct staff to develop an agreement with an initial term of five years, and a subsequent right to further extend for five years, with the Bass Lake Access Association for the installation and management of said steps and dock, and That is subject to the regulatory approvals and permits, public engagement, and executed agreement that the Association be permitted to erect and then manage steps and a dock on Bass Lake.

That staff be directed to investigate and present a policy for public proposals for use of Township land for Council consideration.

That Council of the Township of Georgian Bluffs adopt the Consent Agenda for information, as circulated, less items 9.1.2; and That all actions contained herein be approved.

That the Township of Georgian Bluffs send a letter of support to Western Ontario Wardens Caucus (WOWC) regarding Support of Finlay’s Law on Emergency Room Reform.

1. That Report DEV2026-022, be received for information; and, 2. That Council direct staff to pursue a comprehensive review of all lands within the Township as part of a future growth management process, to ensure an adequate supply of land is available to accommodate anticipated growth identified in County growth forecasts, align with Provincial policy requirements, and confirm that appropriate municipal infrastructure is planned to support future development.

That the revisions to the CAO Performance Evaluation Policy be adopted.

That Council be recessed and hereby moves into Committee of the Whole.

That the Committee of the Whole meeting be adjourned and that Council be resumed at 7:00 p.m.

Whereas, Council has given consideration to the written comments submitted by the agencies in the decision on proposed Zoning By-law Amendment Application Z-06-26 for Matt Brown, for property legally described as PLAN 857 PT LOT 9 RP;16R12113 PART 1; and Whereas Council has considered oral submissions made at the Public Meeting; Therefore be it resolved that Council of the Township of Georgian Bluffs is satisfied that the proposed amendment is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement 2024 and other governing regulations; and That By-law 2026-027 be read a first, second and third time, and finally passed, signed by the Mayor and Clerk, sealed with the Seal of the Corporation, and engrossed in the By-law Book.

That By-law 2026-023, being a By-law to appoint a Building Inspector, be read a first, second and third time, and finally passed, signed by the Mayor and Clerk, sealed with the Seal of the Corporation, and engrossed in the By-law Book.

That By-law No. 2026-028, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of Council on May 6, 2026 be read a first, second and third time, finally passed, signed by the Mayor and Clerk, sealed with the Seal of the Corporation and engrossed in the By-law Book.

That the meeting be adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
